In order to achieve optimal health, our first step together is to identify your unique nutritional needs, foods, supplements, and movement best suited for your genes, health status and lifestyle. I am a firm believer in the concept of bio-individuality, which means that not all people are created the same and there is not one magic diet or cure for everyone. My goal as your Holistic & Functional Nutritionist is to get to the root cause of a set of issues in the body by looking at your symptoms and lifestyle as factors. I keep things simple and fun, while empowering you to become your own healer!

The focus of our first session is your health history and goals for working together. From there, I recommend manageable dietary and lifestyle changes and offer support for you to reach those goals.  I will help you understand WHY you’re making a particular change or taking a supplement or superfood and HOW it will help you to feel better. I provide support in many different forms, most often counseling, health assessment and education, food sensitivity and other lab testing, kitchen and pantry makeovers, meal plans, cleanses/elimination diets, recipes and cooking tips. 

Through my individualized coaching programs, I will lead you through the following phases:

1. PERSONAL ASSESSMENT (60 minutes)

The focus of our first session is listening to your unique story. What brings you here? What are you looking to achieve? We will discuss your health history and any current health conditions, your food preferences and patterns, as well as your challenges and goals to creating the healthy life you desire. We will also determine your unique lifestyle needs and desires, including your budget, schedules, and values and beliefs regarding food and healthy living. Your in-depth analysis includes a review of:

  • Personal goals and desired outcomes
  • Personal and family health history
  • Lab evaluations: please bring current lab work and list of medications!
  • Assessment of food and exercise patterns
  • Stress, sleep and coping strategies
  • Supplements and medications

2. CUSTOMIZED PLAN

After your personal assessment, we will create a customized nutrition and health plan. Because every single one of us is beautifully complex and different with unique needs, body types, and lives, your plan will be specific to you. We will work together every step of the way to develop a sustainable plan to provide you with guidance and structure to help you reach your health goals. I offer 3-month and 6-month programs.

3. ONGOING SUPPORT

Follow-up appointments provide you with valuable time to “check-in.” You and I will discuss how you are doing on your action plan, make adjustments, answer any questions you may have, and set new goals. These follow-up visits are all about you getting the guidance and motivation you need to succeed. These follow-up appointments can be held at your home, a grocery store, a farmer's market depending on your needs and goals.

DISTANCE COACHING:

I am offering ALL of my services in-person, over the phone, or via Skype, so it doesn't matter where you live (although I would love to see your smiling face!)
